Pierre Bessard is president and executive trustee of the Liberal Institute, Switzerland’s oldest independent think tank headquartered in Geneva, Lugano, and Zurich, where he was appointed in 2007. His main research interests include taxation and interjurisdictional competition. Mr. Bessard studied economics and finance in New York and Shanghai, and is the editor and author of several books on Swiss liberalism and current affairs. He serves on the scientific committee of the Center for Tax Competition and the Cercle de philosophie politique Benjamin Constant, and is a member of the Mont Pelerin Society.
